WATCH ME BURN
Man, this 3-song demo kick major ass! From the opening cartoon-
snippet filled song "Lester" onto "2/3 Numb" and "Roadkill,"
California act Watch Me Burn ignites into an out-of-control ball of
rage and destruction that is led by the vocal assault of screamer
Sawa. Managing to sucessful mix sludgecore, thrash metal and
grind into one solid groove is no easy task, but the members of
Watch Me Burn do it with ease. This band is on a roll right now,
featured on numerous compilations and working on a full-legnth.
This band has a lot of potential (I must thank Kevi-Metal for turn-
ing me onto them) and I'm sure their fire will be burning brighter
in 2002. (A. Bromley)

Watch Me Burn, Three-song sampler
Watch Me Burn is hardley your typical grind-core band, on the disk
you find the use of Hanna-Barbera style cartoon noise, jungle
sounding rhythms and an extremely tight and polished sound (is that
good or bad?) it should also be noted that the amazing sound is not
just some engineers trick or studio polish when I saw these hooligans
play at Headline Records they were as tight as on the disk and twice
as good. The singer Sawa's cotton candy pink hair and meek "thank
yous" after each song were a perfect contrast to the grinding driving
the band assembled. I must confess that I have never
particularly liked the whole grind/crust aspect of punk/metal so I
would bet that I'm not the ideal person to review this desk, but
Watch Me Burn might just join my regular rotation. Catch them live
if you can...

The California based Watch Me Burn is as intense as any band can get,
as their female fronted death metal assault is as potent as any. But,
they don't stop there, as this quartet of miscreants utilize
samples and sound effects to further their dynamic blitz of your sensory system.
Their songs are short, sweet and most of all, loud, so brace yourself for a wild
ride.

WATCH ME BURN/
Same-3 death/grind tracks with some of the sickest female vocals I have heard
since Nuclear Death. The shit is fast and then even faster.
Think Brutal Truth is spots. I am not usually a big fan of grind,
but this is one impressive effort. I expect this band to be signed soon.

This new sonic assault cranks out contorted
whacko jazz grind. The three tracks on this CDR are pure thundering goddamn
chaos, and vocalist Sarah is about the most psychotic sounding female I've
ever heard... and I'm including Dawn Crosby and Karyn Crisis when I say that.
No telling how far the band will get, but they'll be raising some hell at
their gigs. And that's a threat, not a promise.

Aaaarrrggghhhh!!! What a fiery feast!! I have to mark: it's NOT a musick for
the weak. Very brutal - ing brutal and intense or even insane stuff
drowning near Brutal Death / Grind Thrashing areas. The band consist of 4
members. The one who heeeeeeelllllish tears own throat is a woman: a real
pride for exreme metal and metal in general scene. No more angelic vocals
just pure devastation is needed!! I am dying to listen to full-lenght album
from Watch Me Burn. They are one of greatest Brutal Death Metal acts at
present. Don't believe me? Check'em out yourself but look out not
to become a dead one.

WATCH ME BURN 3song CD---
in' bad ass! Demented and sick grindcore. Nauseating singer I dig.
Pretty original homespun sound for a grind band. Over by the time it
took to write the preceding four sentences. It just made me want to hear more.
Like SOILENT GREEN on meth and gone horribly awry.

Cover Art by Watch me Burn
Tracks: 1- Lester, 2- 3 2/3rds NUMB, 3- Roadkill
This is an extremely burtal band, specially in the screaming vocals....
they are brutal as hell!!!. This woman reminds me a little bit to
Holy Moses Sabina Classen because of the energy and
that she uses in the vocals. In fact she is amazingly bestial
through the three tracks that are on this MCD. The music is also
very extreme and changes rhythms a lot , from slow to fast,
then back to slow and then fast again and maybe then even faster.
There is also an ultraheavy guitar sound that combines perfectly
with the bass thta has a cleaner sound and contrasts with them.
The drummer is hyper fast and knows how to make tight rhythm changes
that are essential in Watch Me Burnīs music. But the spirit and soul
here are the savage vocals which in five minutes (that is what this
MCD lasts) smash your brain against the wall. Here we have intensity and
brutality !!! !!! nOw we want a full length CD from this savage band from hell.

Jesus crust this disc is nuts! Some four-piece of schitso-psycho freaks have
vomited up some purely putrid vile insane-core out of Burbank, CA and labeled it
Watch Me Burn. With a demented and (as far as I can guess) quite drugged view of
music, this three-songer pitched my tent with its disturbing qualities comprised
of all the wackier bands in , grind, noise and lots of that Patton
shit (Mr. Bungle, Fantomas, etc.). Mentally warped, blasting insanity forms
this self-titled shitstorm guaranteed to send you straight to the looney bin in
a straightjacket. With the mangled song structures blending cartoon sound
effects and bouncy crack rock jazz breaks immediately stomped all over by crust
punk, funky acid passages, and mad punk rock flavor, lots of things can
go through ones mind in the quick duration of these tracks, the first one being
What the ? One of the most surprising factors of the band (and I mean this
in no demeaning way) is the presence of a female singer. Not that chicks cant
growl and yell and scream like the rest of the male vocalists in the metal
world, but I have yet to hear one as insane and violently whack as this. Its
like Linda Blair having her exorcism with Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger and
Michael Meyers smoking crack and jamming along with her! The overall sound of
bands like statemates Cattle Decapitation, Phobia, and the Vulgar Pigeons with
the brutality of German chaos gods Acme and Morser, and a tad bit of the
ambience found in Damad and Neurosis, all blended together like someone with a
case of Tourrettes Syndrome orchestrated the mess. So if you want an
all out mosh massacre record, or a clean, precise masterpiece of a record, stay
home and listen to something else, cause there aint a tad bit of it found here
kids. This is just sick. I love it.

WATCH ME BURN is a pretty interesting band. They take some grind, some insanity,
and some crust, and throw it all together into a sonic omelette. The result is
actually quite good. Opener Lester is easily the best here, due to
the
whacked-out cartoon noises in the song that punctuate the grind parts. The
onimous guitars, sick vocals, and steady drums help things out, too. It's really
a brilliant song. The other standout song of the three offered here is
"Roadkill," easily the most intense of the bunch. The vocals are very, very
nasty, and the fact that they come from a female throat is amazing. Not many
women I know can scream like that. I think that WATCH ME BURN has something very
good going on here. If they can promote themselves properly and get things
spinning in the right direction, I think they'll do very well for themselves in
the grind scene.

Psycho grinding crust from these CA. freaks, the music is well executed and they
do some interesting stuff but it all goes by so fast you really got to be on
your toes to catch it all. They are definately better than a lot of bands I have
heard doing this style and they obviously care about the production of their
material because this has a very good sound. I don't know what they want for
this cool disc with a cool cover too. So write em back and ask.

Clocking in at a mere 5:27 you automatically know that you're in for fast,
insane grindcore with little to no subtlety. Watch Me Burn however have a few
tricks up their sleeves, which help them stand out among the masses. Firstly
their frontman is really a woman, and boy can she hold her own in the growl and
shriek category turning in a flawless performance of insane vocal disorder.
Secondly is their choice of samples from the cartoon madness of "Lester"to the
Dr. Evil intro of "Roadkill," they're the most humorous and inventive since
Blood Duster's " the Dead." Oh yeah they can play too. Ultimately "Watch
Me Burn" play a modern brand of Grindcore with jazz breaks with more than a few
surprises to keep the average metaller interested. One can only imagine what
these freaks come up with when they manage to record a whole album, you have
been warned.

October 2002
Lets talk about this very promising band from Burbank, CA called Watch Me Burn.
Formed in Nov. 2000, here their first definetely nuts record. They described
themselves as Dirty-sludgy-crusty-grind-thrash with a hint of psychedelical
ambience. 3 songs in this 5 minutes CD but very interesting content: a lot of
rhythm changes, a girl named Sawa really screaming without any melody, and big
heavy parts near of stoner metal. This crazy tattooed band already shared the
stage with actus such as Cattle Decapitation and Pig Destroyer and I am sure
they will get a deal very soon because theirmusic is really impressive. Please
check out their raw music on their website: www. watchmeburn.com and you wont
be disappointed at all. Believe me...Fast and furious music, a fresh air in the
suffocating world of grind.
